Description

Why buy an expensive headset just for your Cisco office phone? Use the Headset Buddy Adapter and your existing computer headset with Cisco-based phones that have a headset jack. (will not work with the handset jack)

A big productivity enhancer for home businesses, call centers, sales people,or anyone who is on the phone all the time, but doesn't want to buy two headsets, one for the computer, and one for the phone.

Specs: This amazing adaptor converts the standard headset 3.5mm mic/audio plugs to a standard RJ9, RJ10, or RJ22 4P4C Cisco headset plug, allowing you to use your favorite computer/laptop headset with your Cisco-based office phone. Will not work with the handset jack. Outputs binaural sound for stereo headsets, meaning you will hear sound out of both ears.

Does not work with RJ11 jack, which is wider than your handset or headset jack (6 positions vs. 4). RJ11 jack is what is in the wall. RJ9, RJ10, RJ22 are what is on your phone handset or headset.

Does not work with standard phones, handset jack, Nortel, Aastra, and many other brands. Please see other Headset Buddy model 01-PC35-RJ9 that works with most phones.

Example Compatible Phones:

This list is not all inclusive. Please look up the specifications on your specific phone to see if it has a RJ9, RJ10, or RJ22 headset jack.

4Can be used for Polycom phones as well  Nov 30, 2010 By A. Rublinetsky
I was able to use this cable for Polycom phone as well. Polycom phones use different wiring, but by connecting microphone jack to green connector and headphone jack to pink connector (which is reverse from how it is labeled) it was possible to use this cable on Polycom.

4Pricey but works  Jan 31, 2012 By The Grumpy Hacker
A little pricey, but cheaper than a whole new headset, and it does work with my Cisco 7940 and the Plantronics headset I use on my PC for Skype & GTalk.

5Brilliant!  Jan 30, 2012 By Richard Boyd
I decided to replace my old Plantronics headset at work with a better, nicer, and cheaper p.c. headset. Problem was that I must use an older company phone system, that my old headset plugged into and which has a rj10 plug on a Plantronics volume controller, which has a separate input that I have connected to a music player (that only I can hear). Also, p.c. headsets only come with 3.5mm jacks, or usb. This little adapter worked, and matched up the headset to the phone system perfectly! Now, I've got a much better p.c. style headset that I can listen to both my customers and music with, as well as talk clearly through the older phone system ...

Like the title of this review says, "Brilliant!" ...

3Difficulties with Polycom Phones  Jan 11, 2012 By Julie A Bethany
This product doesn't appear to work with Polycom phones. We attempted to switch the cables as suggested by A Rublinetsky but only the party using the headset had audio. I emailed marie@webkollc.com 1/6/12 to get information on the headset we should be using with Polycom phones but have yet to hear back.

5Works brilliantly  Jan 11, 2012 By T Bling
I put this between the headset I use for ventrilo/gaming and the cheapest panasonic phone I could find and the sound quality for the person I'm talking to is amazing (my headset is great, and gaming headsets for pc's you get great quality for way less than you get mediocre quality for office headsets!)

It's a little quiet on my side with the volume on my headset and phone turned all the way up, volume is not normally a problem with my headset, so it is probably the phone I plugged it in to and not the adapter or the headset. So I don't feel that should take a star from the rating on this product.

Works without sacrificing quality according to the customer. This is all I needed. Talk about a brilliant way to save money.
